Will the car have any exterior strips, designs, etc. or will it just be mono-color? What plans for the interior? I just started to follow this thread and did not read the 100+ prior post.

The plan is to have exterior strips that resemble grabber stripes but are different enough to be their own.

The goal for the interior is to look stock. The dash will be two toned and I was thinking about changing our all the guages with aftermarket guages.

There will be modern 3 point seat belts and original bucket seats.

The grille will have round driving lights instead of the regular rectangle grabber lights.

This is a resto/mod and it will have TCP front suspension with coil-overs. Wilwood disk brakes front and rear. RRS rack and pinion.

There is to much to list......

In my experience yellows are extremely difficult to try and panel paint. I have never seen it pulled off and have a good match from panel to panel. Yellows by nature are very translucent, one extra coat can shift the color.

I agree with comment about the yellow. What a pain. Takes so many more coats to cover you end up using twice as much paint.

Ok! Thanks for the rundown. I get where u plan to go w/ this resto.
I like everything ur doing....will be following this build henceforth. Interested in what seat belts u plan on using? I'd like to upgrade my belts to something a little easier to fasten/manage, especially for the few times I have a passenger. :thumbs2:

Just wanted to let everyone know that it did fit and has enough clearance for the caltracs. You will need to mount it with the bolthead inboard but there is enough room for clearance. I will post pictures later tonight to show every how much room there is.

You and me both. Nothing like trying to make a decision whether to grind into fresh paint or not.

Due to a potential issue that was brought up by a member about possible clearance issues with the caltracs traction system and the weld on subframe connectors, I went a did a trial fit and took some pictures.

I was immediately concerned that I did not leave enough room by looking at the pictures I had taken of the bottom of the Maverick. From the feedback I received from other members that had installed the caltracs system we all figured it would be close.

After taking the bracket portion of the set up and temporarily installing it, our hypothisis was correct and it was close but not as close as I thought. The good news was that if fit and it will work well. The only thing you will have to take into concideration is that you will more than likely have to install the lower traction arm heim at the lowest hole (Do not order the low profile plates, they will not work with this set up) and install the bolt with the bolt head from the inboard side of the bracket so it will clear the subframe connector.

I also notice that there is enough space between the bracket and spacer to place a shim (washer) to move the assembled bracket inboard or outboard if needed.

Here are some pictures of the bracket temporarily installed:
