I know in a manual shift car tach is best on right. Otherwise while steering with left hand and shifting with right your left arm would block tach. Most cars have tach on right. My 2012 Mustang and 2009 jeep wrangler do.

Again thanks for the great comments! You are right about some of the current builds. I especially like car-nuts build. There is some very unique one off stuff in his build that I wish I would have thought of.

put them in the next car you build for yourself...:tiphat:

you are right, there are some great built cars on here. I never plan to "finish" mine. I like the working on it with different things. that way I can have everyone's ideas at one time or another (some of my own)..."it's my Hobby car"...:yup:

The Heater Control Bezel is finished and I think it finishes off the dash nicely. In my opinion the dash does not look over the top but very classy.

I promise you if I build one for myself it will not be anywhere close to this. I am hoping for a clean running car that I do not have to do to much too.

To be honest when I started this build I had no intention to even think about building myself one. During this build I have fell in love with the car and have caught myself numerous times looking for one for myself. When this build is done and the dust settles we will see what is in store.

As for Glenn's (car-nuts) ideas. I really try not to copy others unique ideas. I did however ask to use his hood stripe design and he gave me permission. I really love his drip rail shave and his front valance idea. He has done the cleanest drip rail removal I have seen on a maverick. The added touch with the raised area around the original drip rail makes it for me. As for the front valance, I have offered to buy it numerous times. I think he thinks I am kidding but I am not. I like that more than any other mod he has done.

Again I really try not to all out steal someone's ideas. From the many years of showing cars I realized that being an individual is what makes a car and a person. If you show up with the same thing everyone else has then you are just one in a crowd.

That is a big reason for owning one of these cars. If you get the build right it will stand out in the toughest of crowds.

This is one mod I plan to do once the weather breaks - I already bought a lead kit to fill everything in the area after I hit it with the mig welder to hold everything together - I've wanted to do this to mine ever since I saw pictures of Thomas Hackman's bronze Maverick many years ago :)
