The thing that I like most about these cars is the fact that you can modify them to the hilt and you'll get "WOW, you did all this? Maybe you'll even get a few "Good Job" or "Nice Ride". Now do the same to a vintage Mustang and people look at you like you just carved up the Mona Lisa "I can't believe you did that to a Mustang".

BUILD IT AND ENJOY IT :yahoo:

You are absolutely right about having a Maverick and already putting yourself outside the normal crowd!!!

The one thing I do really like about modifying a Maverick is most of the time it is a one off modification because you can't buy it out of a catalog.

I didn't mean any disrespect for doing modifications others do I am just hoping that they are mot identical to someone else's. Drip rail removal has been done before, but car-nut gave it that added touch with the raised portion. I would feel bad if I did the exact same modification. One of the main reasons I went the way I did with the dash is because it is different than anyone has attempted.

Down to the final adjustments and cleanup on the Maverick and then it will come today. After 3 years away from my own garage today is the day. No more 40 minute one way drives to go work on it or see it.

After 2 painters and 3 shops I am truly happy with the outcome. The first painter did me wrong in a bad way by taking my money and never really working on it. As for the second painter, it took a while but he did work on it and his attention to detail was at a level that matched my own. It is sad to say that this is his final car project. He is moving to Puerto Rico to live with his new bride. He returned to the states after he got married in August to finish this car.

Well here are a few pictures of the final assembly and adjustments. Then some of the final polish and clean up.

Very nice! you stated that you didn't want to do some mods that others have done, but I ask if you mind if someone does a mod as you have done? I really like the gauge cluster you have and would love to mod mine in a similar fashion, your Maverick looks awesome!

That looks KILLER!! Glad to see it finally breaking out of "Paint-Jail". The commute would have been enough to discourage most people from doing what you've done. Your father is one lucky man!!!

Looks great. One question: How did you repaint the text for the fan on the bezel?

Here is a picture that was requested by a couple of members of the grabber insert domed and sealed nuts. Thanks to Brian Kelley and his research this is another item that is out there for our cars. Once thought not to be available is now known to be out there.
