is there clearcoat on the polished parts?

 

That is one stout motor. If I remember correctly, didn't you say your father isn't that much of a gear head? Will he really utilize the car/drivetrain to what you are building? I thought this was being built as a cruiser.

No offense intended. I am just surprised to the level you built the engine. And maybe a little jealous.

I just decided to give my dad the best I can give. I know it is overkill but why hold back now.

Beautiful Car and Motor. You father well be very pleased with it all. You have done a great job with your project. You need to have a video of your fathers face when you present it to him. It would be priceless to see. Have you given it any thought how you will go about presenting it to him? Again, you have done a great job. You and Car-nut both have raised the bar on the restoration of these cars.

Beautiful motor! I know I told Glenn already but between Glenn, Frank and you there are 3 incredible cars being built 3 different ways all hitting their perspective marks.

 

I definitely look up to Glenn's work. I also like what Frank is doing. I wish all 3 of use lived closer together we might all be done by Christmas. You can definitely see each persons strengths.

I just need more time in the garage. Working on the road has definitely slowed things down for me. I am planning on camping out in the garage every weekend to get this thing done. I almost have the Dyna-Mat installed and will move on to the electrical. Once I clear the wiring it should go faster. I just want to make sure the wiring is right and looks better than factory. I have always tried to make the wiring nearly invisible.

 

I just think it's awesome how far these cars have come, 10, maybe 20 years ago we'd never have considered the quality of the cars being built today.

 

So I guess the million dollar questions is.....is he on to you yet? With the car at home now I imagine the risk is much higher he might stumble on to it or a clue that you have a secret project in the works.

 

Nope. The garage is locked from both sides with a deadbolt that needs a key.

To be safe the key stays in the door unless he is coming over. I am lucky that he live far enough away that he does not visit often.

 

I agree. I still remember seeing Dan Hine's car for the first time and thinking "Wow.....we have really up'd the standards.....I better up mine."

 

In my eyes, the bar got raised another level just looking at that engine

 

I am almost finished with the heater box rebuild and restoration. I didn't get any pictures of the inside. I realized that I didn't take any after I got it back together.

I also have most of the Dyna Mat installed on the interior and the roof. I also got the Dyna Liner installed on the roof. I will get those pictures posted later.

I will be tackling the heater on my son's car in the next couple of weeks.

 

New seals, blower motor, squirrel cage, heater core, and all parts blasted, painted or powder coated.

Plus I polished the metal part the blower motor mounts too. To bad it will not be seen.
