I picked up the Grabber Hood and had a local media blast shop strip all the fancy metalic green paint off the hood to see what I truely have.

    Here are the results:

The dark area is some type of sealant not rust. The front lip is solid!!!!!

Looks like they blew most of the glue out of it, you might want to re-glue the subframe to the hood skin.
    Whats that writing say?

    Will do.

This is what I can make out on the bottom of the hood:

    IUSINOR
    44230
    DOE
    2091971

I would think it was what was printed on the original metal they used to fabricate the hood.

Thanks! Sorry it is slow on actual visual progress do to wanting to post only so many blocking pictures.

I have a ton of parts that arrive but I figure I will cover the individual parts as I install them.

I am planning on installing a set of 1969 Billet Camaro Tail lights in the back end. I don't believe I have seen that done in a Maverick yet. I seen a set of 67-68 tail lights but not 69 tail lights.

I thought about doing the exact same thing. Had I not already replaced the tail panel for the Shelby lights I would do it. Should look great!

So what is the story behind the holes in the hood?

Great. Another idea or part that the same member has done to his that I am doing to my dads. Maybe I will start posting up a picture of my basement full of parts.:( I just like to be different.

At least I get to see how they fit before I start installing them. I was planning on grafting in the sheet metal of a 69 camaro tail panel so I will have the lip that is around both tail lights.

I wouldn't sweat it. I thought EFI and a 5sp in a Maverick was unique until I found this site way back when. Your build is top notch and is bound to be unique in many other ways.:tiphat:

Here goes the start of installing the 69 camaro tail lights. I have the tail light panel for a 1969 camaro that we will graph in the tail light portion and the modify the retaining brackets so it looks like it came out of the factory from Ford. It will also allow us to use all the stock replacable studs, seals, and the stock tail light housings. I decided to go with Marquez Designs Modern Billet tail lights with reverse lights. They are angled to to match the angle of the tail lights as well as the maverick tail panel.

Here is the tail light panel from the 69 camaro where the spot welds were drilled out to remove the retaining brackets that hold the studs to bolt the tail light housing too.

You can also see that the portion of the tail lights area has been marked out were we are going to cut the parts out that we will use.

Here are the pieces cut out and placed in the areas of the tail panel of the Maverick. The metal has been cut out in the Maverick tail panel and pieces are in place were they will soon be welded in and finished off.
