Vacuumed out the mice mess to get a sense of what this project might entail. will need new interior. Dash and everything is cracked out from the desert sun and dusty. holes in seats.
i want to keep the bench seat but add some kind of foam to add support for cornering when it gets reupholstered. looking for rebuildable 2015-17 mustang for the power-plant(2.3l) and powertrain suspension and odds and ends to add to this restomod.

If you want a bench seat that is a nice upgrade, look to the ones from 76 and 77. The rear seat to match should swap right in, too, because 72 has the right shape rear side panels to match.

Funny .... 20 years ago the prevailing thinking was to ditch bench seats and put buckets in, but if you look at modern cars, everything has buckets now, and that makes a bench seat a novelty. I'm starting to come around to that myself ....

i can't seem to find good pictures from google but the obvious difference seems to be headrests. that would definitely be worth it in an accident.

I agree, buckets are good but can't have the family up front either, i've always been a bench fan and now cars are made pretty much without them. i like to think i will race this thing but i won't it will just be pretty much cruising and would love my wife and daughter up front with me. my favorite memory was dads F450 with a bench and getting to sit between him and mom, all of us siblings fought for that spot

floatingcowboy, if you plan to have a third person occupy the center of your bench seat you need to figure out how you can install a seat belt with shoulder restrains. You don't want to do something you will regret.

I can't find pics either .... the bench seat I am referring to has a built in armrest that flips down. Might be late Luxury Decor Option.

Alright so I finished up some of my other projects and got them out of the way. I have pulled it in and began tear down, interior and engine coming out, evaluating rust damage and body work.
