Wow, in 22+ years of being into Mavericks & Comets...I've never seen a red car, with a blue interior.......:yikes:
Whats the codes off the sticker, on the B pillar?

I had never seen one either before this. Everybody I talk to about this says it's wrong. Define wrong. I'm going to order the Marti report tomorow and hopefully that will clear it up. Even if it was an available option I don't see the reason for ordering this. I suspect this was a car sitting on a dealer lot and finally someone came along and bough it. I am the third owner. I bought it from a guy who got it from the original owners estate. An old lady bought it new and passed a couple of years ago.

He was going to do the V8 thing, paint it blue and so on. I don't know if I should modify it or leave it pretty stock. I have all the stuff to put a V8 and toploader in it but I just can't make up my mind..........

I'll have to see if I have a picture of the door sticker, I don't think I do. The car is in storage right now and I probably won't see it for a few months. If I do get to it I will get the info.

Yuck! That's funny because if you look at the promo picture for the 1970 BOSS 302 it's a green car with a red interior. I'm fairly sure that wasn't available as a combination.

A Marti Report will tell you when the car was built....and when it was sold.

This has to be a special order car. If it was my car, and I came to find out it was all original, I think I would have to change it.

I would buy into the special order thing but this car has few options. 250 6 cyl, automatic, some decor group that got the molding on the side, wheel lip moldings (in my garage) and full wheel covers. Plus I don't think it had a radio from the factory. No tinted glass, no AC.

My guess is that some salesman saw Grandma coming and sold this puppy to her while winning the office bet of "lunch" with the secretary for selling the goofball car of the month. Only Marti knows at this point. Ordering in the morning! I of course will post the info ASAP!.

Does anybody have a 73 Comet brochure??????

True story...my father worked at a Ford dealership for years, when I worked there one Summer they had a new Granada they couldn't sell because the Salesman had accidentally checked off the wrong box on the order sheet and got a red Granada with a blue interior. By Marti standards I'm sure it was 1 of 1 but in real terms it just didn't look right. I think after a few months on the lot they ended up sending it to the body shop for a full new colour repaint.

That's a nice car. I cud get use to the blue int. My car has black; black is pretty much universal - goes w/ anything. If ur going to modify the car why the concern abt a 40 yr old radio that may not even work? I like ur wheels; I have the same ones w/ beauty rings. Im removing the rings, I think they look better w/o rings.

Thanks! I wouls still like to get the chrome Magnum 500's for it. If I modify it, it won't be crazy. Basiclly making it a V8 car. I have a couple of toploaders to choose from so thats what will end up in it if I go that way. I still want it look stockish. That's why I would like to get the correct radio and parts that go with it.

I have a mid-70's Ford Aeronutronic am/fm here. I bought it at a pawn shop last summer, works and looks great. I don't need it anymore since my latest purchase of an am/fm 8-track player for my Maverick. If you're interested, let me know...I'm in Windsor every Sunday...I could toss it across the river for ya!:biglaugh: It looks almost the same as FordsForever's but complete with nobs.
