All this Tom wants to do is brag about his cars. Wonder if he even has them? Post down about others cars. See you Tom, guess what? Everyone on this site has had nice fast cars.
You're right, sold 'em all 45 years ago, including ones bought in '12 & '19 https://streamable.com/zng2f2
"Krazy Comet, post: 1169458, member: 20492"]Guess it never met up with my 428 Cobra Jet(yes I owned it in '73). Well the 70 Mach 1 428SCJ auto, ram air, in my home town, met up with the 71 Torino Cobra 429CJ, 4spd, I owned in 73-77 and I cleaned his clock. 3 out of 3 runs. He'd never race me again after that. Dealer install options happened as early as 64. ACs, dual carb setups, many 427s went to dealers with a single carb and the dual setup in the trunk for them to install. Along with other "dealer installed" hop ups. Where do you think the rip off "dealer prep" came from?

Pretty close match up! Did I get the correct cars? By the way, a 2005 Mustang GT could smoke either one.
And a little old AC Cobra 427 would smoke that 05 Stang every way you can thing of. Other then being a "comfortable" vehicle to ride in. First off, 70/71 street tires used in those tests are very different then what was used for the 05 tests. lets just start with equalizing that and see how an 05 Stang does. It'll fall on it's face. That and turn off all the electronic stuff and make the driver do their job.
And a 2022 Shelby Mustang GT 500 can smoke the AC. It never ends. Anyway we confirmed the 73 302 was the same in both the Mustang and Maverick.
I never claimed to beat every thing out there, car is still basically stock. There's always someone faster. Far from stock, the Trick Flow headed '88 5.0 T-bird I had could easily hand the Cobra Jet it's ass. AFAIK parts in trunk was happening as early as the '61 390, with the 401Hp three duce option. Car was delivered to dealer with a 4bbl Hi-Po 390, tripower in trunk. None came from factory with the deuces(why the '61 Hi-Po 390 engine code in VIN is same, 4bbl or deuces) . In '62 the tri-power was delivered installed on 406, either 4bbl or deuces were orterable(have different VIN codes). Same with '63-'67 4bbl vs dual quads on 427. Shelby was buying what he could get from Ford, often had single 4bbls that were upgraded. NASCAR boys took first priority for dual quad 427. I've heard some of the old timer Norfolk Ford plant employees talk about building batches of 427 Galaxies (one of my mom's cousins worked over there). When they rolled off line, went to a special holding area. Within a couple days the NASCAR team haulers from NC showed up to take them south.
