Yeah. I pulled the cluster when I replaced the bulbs and was just hoping that it was bulbs only....I ensured the plug was in securely when reinstalling. No dice. I will pull, clean and ring out the flex lines on it next. Anyone know of any refurb clusters (or anyone doing this service) for Mav's?

I have seen the led bulbs talked about here and looked locally, but have not found any of these in SD. Hesitant to order from what mostly seems to be sites based in china.

    Thanks!

may be able to fix up your cluster.
the 185 price is fair for a shop price. it can easily take over 2 hours to do that job if there are any tricky issues that come up.
is the 3 gauge cluster electric or mechanical?
i assume its a oil pressure water temp and volt meter.
    what brand is it?
if i did it at my shop i would charge $100 for an all electric cluster. the price goes up quickly if is a mechanical gauge set. also if it is a mechanical set i wont install the plastic oil pressure line. its unsafe. i would replace it with either a copper line or steel braided line. if you want to drop by my shop to get a better estimate feel free to.

Oil pressure, temp, and amperes. Trisco from Harbor Freight. Yeah oil pressure is plastic line...good to know....other two are electric. I did call speed shop and they have not done a maverick cluster before but are willing to look at it. Before I do that...I figured I would try to clean it and ring it out myself.

the amp gauge is not a good idea. you have to wire it so all the power from battery going to the car except for the starter is going through it. then if its goes bad you loose all battery power in your car. i know this be cause it happened to me way back in the day when i had one in my car. ive heard of them even catching fire. the fact that its from harbor freight make me even more wary of the gauge lasting.
replace the plastic line with a copper one. you can find them in most auto parts stores in the help/motor mite section. the other problem with a cheap oil pressure gauge is that the gauge it self can leak internally and leak oil into your interior.

    Dash Lights

I pulled the dash out once now to change out the offending bulbs...and I am pretty comfortable doing it now. Kid is now starting college, so I have limited time to take it off the road. Will be trying to combine troubleshooting efforts into one major attempt on a weekend.

I have found replacement sockets (which I will change out all of them at once since they are not super expensive).
    Rockauto carries two types:
Standard Motor Products Part #S500A "2 terminals w/ 1/2 inch Hole"
    (also shows in description: Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 12004311, 25015169, 3744750, 4374072, 88860432, C80Z13711B, C8AZ13711A, C8OZ13711A, C8OZ13711B, C9WF13711B, D8HZ13711A, E5SZ13B765A, E89Z13B765A, E92Z13B765A) $1.18 each(plus shipping) http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=442625
    and
ACDelco Part #LS130 {88860432} "Socket, Inst cstr LP 1/2 IN hole" $1.59 each (plus shipping)
    http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=926194
Napa carries the first one as well for a little more $.

Rockauto also carries GE 194NH {194NHBP2} Nighthawk bulbs for $1.52 for a pack of two. Claims 20% brighter than standard bulbs.
I will replace all 10 bulbs with these.
    1) Hi-beam
    2) Turn signal (x2)
    3) Cluster Illumination (x3)
    4) Oil
    5) Alt
    6) Temp
    7) Brakes
(except the seat belt lamp...leaving socket and bulb out as it currently is)

After replacing all bulbs and sockets, and cleaning the exposed flex copper connections (maybe with ketchup). I will try to ring out every line to ensure the issues are not the flex or the harness socket.

I will also paint the cluster white while I have it out as the other thread in the forum shows. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=60255&highlight=dash+white

Hoping it is just the bulb sockets and replacing fixes my issues.
