another helpful tip if you decide to go with that stock type converter. DO NOT OVER CARB THIS MOTOR. The carb's signal will already be suffering a tad bit from smaller CID and larger cross sectional port area until the rev's come up a bit higher and a bigger bore/venturi size will cause even greater losses down low. Think 600-650 cfm and keep the dual plane design to pick up metering signal. It will be easier to tune as well.

Good luck with the build and keep us posted on your progress!

Nah, doesn't matter how big a carb you put on it. Just need to "tune" it. :stirthepot::rofl2::evilsmile:

Good one! That was actually pretty funny, Larry.

2 words for the smaller CID Cleveland headed big carb lovers.. annular discharge. :thumbs2:

Right now I have a 625 cfm Carter AFB (pre-edelbrock performer) carb on it and the intake is an older B&A Performance Street Boss dual plane intake. I'm looking forward to hearing it run, it's been a long journey!

That'll work! I ported one of those many years ago and even uncut they are pretty decent manifolds for this combo.
