1974 radio same as 1973?

    Someone has a AM/FM radio from a 1974 Comet which he will sell me to replace my 1973 Maverick AM radio. Are these interchangable? I don't want to buy it until I'm sure. There's a listing on eBay for a 1973 faceplace, which the seller says is different from the 1974 faceplate he is also selling. So that makes me wonder. :hmmm:

    As long as your car came from the factory with a glove box it will be the same .. some very early 1973 cars still had the tray ...

    Yes it has the glovebox. It is a late 1973, actually made on May 31, 1973 about 2 weeks before the 1974's came out.

    The radios are the same but the face plates are different between the glove-box dash and the "tray" dash...

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    The 1974's came out in September. Started building them early August.
