I was stationed overseas from 85-88...I don't recall ever seeing one either. Nice condition! Here are some images on google http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi
Pontiac designed so the Grand Prix could be competetive on the Nascar circuit with the similar Monte Carlo Aero Coupe. Nascar then required that there be a mininum amount of production cars available to the public to be eligible to race. Same deal as the Plymouth Superbird, Dodge Charger Daytona, Mercury Cyclone Spoiler and the Torino Talledega
Got some new rims and tires. Went with 245/45/17 Hankooks. I think she needs to be lowered a little now.
Thanks guys. Yes they are American Racing 17x7 with 4" backspace with 245/45s. I did end up painting the drums and calipers. I also added 1" blocks in the rear and cut 3/4 of a coil out of the front springs. Had to roll the front fenders slightly. Small bumper conversion coming next but I must say the big ones have kind of grown on me. Here is an updated pic.
Well here's some current pictures. I added the grabber wing to the decklid and installed sport mirrors, removed the vinyl top and tail panel treatment, shaved some of the trim and installed early bumpers. The Halo trim will be going back on. Waiting on carbon fiber grabber hoods to come back in stock also. After our yearly Phoenix meet and seeing all the early cars I decided the Maverick script on the sail panel needs to go. Undecided if I want to move it to the fender or not.
