I used one from a late 60's Biscayne wagon with a 250 six cylinder behind the 396 I had in my Chevelle. When it comes to the standard applications it makes plenty of sense to maximize the applications for the transmission. Makes procurement and inventory management so much easier.

That's correct, last entry in Ford Master Parts for the 2.77 trans was 1967...

I've been told I know too much but I had to look up three speed info... I know a lot of the 4-speed Top Loader info off top of my head, but have never been much on three speeds, 6cyl or half motors... I do have a soft spot for 5-speed '87-'88 Turbo Coupe T-Birds, but like 'em better with a whole motor...

I was thinking '67-'68 was when something changed. The 66 Falcon parts car with 2.77 I have has a dual-bolt pattern tapped in the block for the bellhousing to accept 4 out of 6 bolts for the 3.03 bell. I do know sometime after the Maverick run the 200 went to a low mount starter bell same as the 250 and SBF.

If the parts catalog listed 71 as the last year then that meant that nothing changed after that year until you find what year was listed next...ie. if the part is not listed for a 73 in the catalog you can find the part in the earlier catalog listed for a 70, 71 or 72

Info is from the '65-'72 Ford Master parts catalogue, for whatever reason they didn't include '72... As Hollander says they are same through '76(gear ratio excepted), so I doubt there were any real changes...

200 cid engine with c4 tranny. The bell housing is different and will not fit. The 250 engine is the same and will work for 302.mine was a c4 3 speed auto column shift with a 306 and everything bolt up engine and tranny.
