true! and i think im the only one i have a mav '71 4 doors in my town, i've seen more 2 doors... ford mustang maverick?...eeew!!!!, should be Ford Maverick...=) 4 doors, and should look better than the charger...
I haven't even had my Mav a week and I've gotten a lot of compliments at school and today the gas station attendant clearly knew about them, as he asked me if I had the 302 or an inline 6. I really like driving something pretty exclusive, I have never seen one around here (at least that I know of) and I'm sure I turn a few heads. I love that car, it'll be amazing once it's restored and I do the 302 conversion. I think it would be cool to see a modern version, but I do agree on the assumption that it may not sell well. Most people don't remember the name, so it won't mean much to anyone but the few Mav owners of the past and present. If it did catch on, you know that many more people would start looking for Mavs to fix up and it wouldn't be as rare
my first trip to the gas station with mine i got asked if it was a mustang. i was like wow. kids are really getting dumb these days
I am 21 years old and when i passed this baby blue little nova, with a for sale sign screaming from the back window. I rolled up and looked at the car and saw the words, Ford Mavierck, 4400.... I was like, what the hell is a maverick, i looked it up online, did my homework. a month after having the car, i noticed that everybody around my age has never heard of the mav, but they love my car, my mother and her generation are like... i had one of those when i was your age, and the older crowd smile with the biggest grins. The other day i was just crusing around and i looked over to see a beautiful black lincon, all chromed out, jet black, and sparking like the barret-jackson. Inside this car was four elderly people all waving, pointing, and yelling out the window how nice my car was The maverick is the maverick casue there rare and untamed....
If they did continue to build them they would have turned into junk like every thing else built since the eightys long live the original Mavrick!
I actually think I stumbled across that picture either through our cosmetic forum or when I was digging around on the link that was talking about the $30K custom red Brazilian Maverick. Google the designer's name and both cars will come up in one of the results with him listed as the one selling the red Maverick and as the one who conceived the 2010 version.
Ya know this may be "sissy bow-tie talk". But I was up at the Detroit Auto Show to see how well Ford was doing (and judging by the atmosphere, very well) when I cam across the Caddilac CTS Coupe and got to thinking. Now that they are making the money back on platform development for the CTS/Camaro/G8 chassis. Why not use the extra tooling to make a cheap-er! Chevy Nova with all the original body styles available. 305 hp.V6 decent fuel economy fun car for the young to get them out of throttle sticking death trap toyotas. And the the might Blue Oval will sweep the young off their feet with a Brand new Maverick based off a slimmed and trimmed mustang chassis offering a 200 hp Eco-Boost 4, the 3.7 304 hp V6 and a limited Edition 5.0 Shelby Maverick with a funtional Grabber Hood. ANY TAKERS!
