Got my vote in yesterday. I graduate from grad school in Dec, then Matt and I can kick the car work into high gear. MAYBE, we can drive her to the gathering if it is near home
Both clubs seem to be midwest biased. I need to move to Oklahoma to be centrally located in the Maverick universe. Probably dosnt help that us Az. guys cant even get a mini meet togethor . Someday when im wealthy enough for a trailer and a nice f-350 to haul it i will make the trip to one of the events.
Most of you can get there with only driving across one state line, maybe two but they are small states. Its a long drive from Phoenix az. Maybe only 4 state lines but texas should count as 5 state lines compared to those silly little southern states. Just too far and too expensive at this point in life.
There's an idea. maybe he wont notice the extra drag. Just need to practice my cowboy skills so i can laso his trailer while on the move.
I feel ya. I usually only make 1 long trip a year in my car and bust my arse to do it. Most years its Biloxi, MS (1200 mile round trip) or Tallahassee, FL (1700 mile round trip) This coming year I'm not sure what the plan is. Either a few legs of the Hot Rod Power Tour, Good Guys, KS or SEMA, Vegas. If the Gathering isnt in OK then I will not be able to make it. I'll definitely be trying to hit the OK and TX mini meets if they'll still have me. I've left them hanging the last couple years.
Not biased Ryan, just didn't receive any proposals from your area. The MCG holds its national Gathering by a vote of the membership on proposals submitted by the membership. I can't think of a more "non-biased" way to handle it.
I know, both clubs have their big meets in the midwest somewhere, seems to be the highest concentration of members. some day I will make it out there just like someday we will get our stuff togethor in AZ. and have our own meet.
Maybe we can compromise Fro, how about Albuquerque, New Mexico? Hope all in well back in the show me state, I had hoped to make it back to Joplin in August, but life got in the way. Farmall
I believe we met at the track in 09? I was hoping you'd come this year, but I understand when life gets in the way, look me up if you do get back this way, and I dont care where the gathering is held I will try my best to make it, even if it is without a car, hint hint.
Only today and tomorrow to vote. No matter the location it will be a great time. Hope I get to make it this year, sure do miss all the people.
