Well we made it as far as Clinton Oklahoma today, we have been sight seeing on the way home and are going to go check out some Route 66 museum and a couple other related places tomorrow, stopped yesterday and checked out the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, it was okay.

Was 101 degrees most of the trip today, thank goodness for a/c

I attended the 2011 Gathering with my car and the Roundup without a car. Didn't have a problem at either event. I didn't get to meet everyone because some were busy and others were involved in conversations but those that I approached were very friendly. Of course, its easier if you have a car there. People will approach you and want to know about it.

The guys at the Roundup that I did connect with, and remember as being particularly friendly, were Everett, Earl, Jim, Art and Dennis. I was only there for a few hours. Its also easier if there has been previous contact. I had met Earl, Jim and Dennis in person before.

Here are some pics (there are no Mavericks in them, so I hope they don't get deleted for being off topic.)
They are: Ward trying to make Alex eat a snake, Don Graham looking up in the sky when he heard someone say, "There's a comet.", 2/3's of the smiling Phillips, an Elvis sighting, and Edsel (not making that up) Bucksken and his son playing with the park ranger (all great musicians!)

Just read this but need to go up to the room. Wish I had known you were in Clinton Mike and Cindy. We came through there a little while ago. We are now in Amarillo for the night. Uneventful trip so far. Hope we can keep it that way. Will post more when we get home.

I am still in Ky. Heading back from the Gathering, my car was throwing me to the right. The lower control arm bushing on the passenger side went out on the Stang. Luckily it is being fixed by a friend's shop. I knew him as a kid here in my hometown. Should be headed back to Fl tomorrow if all goes as planned.

Jim, Great seeing you again, safe travels back to Fl.

Joel, I'm glad Issac felt welcome and had a good time, that is what the MCG is all about. We will have to get together being so close. We need to get a good KY mini meet going.

I need to mention a couple other items.

Thanks to Jack Grice for donating the instument cluster with the factory looking tach to be raffled off to help raise money money for the MCG.

Tom Stone for donating the axles for the disc brake 8" how to/fund raiser.

Gene for the painting already mentioned to give to the President, Ruth, for her service to the MCG. Does anyone have a photo of that painting they could post?

I think both fund raisers were a success to the MCG. We are already working on a suprise for next year that you won't want to miss being a part of. Just a little teaser.:D
