My truck has 22.5" wheels on it, but it's a CLASS 8 SEMI TRUCK HAULING 80,000 lbs gross weight!!
Myself, I think wheels that big should only be put on trucks. Look at it this way, FORD quit using 18" wheels when they quit building T Models. If the big wheels were so great, don't you think they would have kept using them? I agree with the others, it's you car, so do what you want, but don't expect much respect from us old geezers. It just ain't our thang....:D

Not really - they used "taller" tires...
Ford used 21 inch wheels on the 1926-27 Model T cars with wire or wooden spoke rims. Some earlier Ts used 30 inch tires.
Early Model As, 1928s, used 21 inch tires and late ones, 1931s, used 19 inch tires.
Just thought you would like to know...

Thanks for correcting me on the sizes, but I stand by my original statement, if they were so great, they would have kept using them. Wheel size steadily declined until the 50's, when 14" and 15" wheels became the norm. I apoligize if I came off as shouting in my original post, I may have to edit it. Those big wheels are fine if you need them for brake clearance, but wheels that big belong on a truck.....

Putting 22" wheels on a Maverick is like putting yellow mustard on chocolate ice cream. It makes it noticeable and stand out, but greatly takes away from the overall quality.

sell the 22's and get some 14 inch magnum 500's the'll bolt right on no spacers needed. those rims look better on a caprice or a crown vic. those on a maverick is just plain wrong:naughty:
