It's your car do what you want, but since you ask I don't like them. I want to go with 17'' on mine but can't decide, I think the older cars look better with 15 or 16 inch. That's the great part about the car hobby, to each his own. Good luck with your choice.
for some reason people think that you have to have oversized rims on a car to make it look cool. putting 22' on a mav is just a waste of a good car as well as money
22'S On a Mav --------------------------------------------------------- lol again Def. Not on a Mav. And if they are supported in any way near how the shivey pics show their ( Lift Set-Up ) with galvanized pipe / exhaust tube looking ,they are already Waaaay past the Dangerous point! Cam
I'm with Dan and Nick, that light green car looks too cool on the ground like that. Does anyone have any more pics of that car? I think 22s are too big, 18s are about as big as you can go and still have a good looking stance. But I like cars to sit lower than stock and sometimes slammed on the ground, You can't do that with 22s on a mav/com. JMO
If you do it I'll dropkick you.... But seriously.. I guess if you wanna look like you're "ballin" or whatever. But seriously dude. The "big rims on classic cars" thing is dumb. I mean I can understand putting HUGE rims on Chevys cuz they suck but jeez! What's the mentality behind these comically big wheels anyways?
As stated b4 by me. 14-16s are ok but anything bigger look like wagon wheels. My friend has a big boat.63 Lincoln rag top,4 door, suicide doors with 22s and that is fine as the car is lowered some also. As Derek50comet said. 22s look good on a freightliner. You will not be happy with the ride or handling but its your money and car. Good luck
actually new mustangs come with 18's the last time i read it was a ford. not to meantion the many other new cars have 18's stock! but 22's are just stupid and don't work with the lines of the car period.
No, for several reasons. 1. It raises the center of gravity leading to more body roll. 2. It lifts the car and forces the nose into the wind. Screwing with the aerodynamics. 3. Increases the turn radius. Now if you chop and channel the car so you can lower it onto the 22s, it may work.
i understand that a small part of the bay area "scrapper" car scene(most major citys for that matter) is about putting big rims on just anything just to be seen but rarely is it done in good taste. nobody wants to see $500 early 90 sedans with 22inch flea market chrome rims. the maverick is just too small of a car, those wheels will hanicap your car unless you heavily modify your car or maybe you just want to drive it around town. no one seemed to criticise? the rim size of supergrabber in the projects forum. i just think you should invest in a quality drivetrain and paint job before some big azz rims. im thinking of maybe going as high as 20's and thats pushing it, if i end up widening the wheel wells, maybe like a pro touring look with the wheels tucked in a bit. there are just so many better wheels out there once you go 18" and up. cragers and magnum 500s with raised white letter tires are classic but theyve been done already.
