I wanted to see that episode and missed it. The lower legs on my stand extend well beyond the end of the motor. It feels real stable, although its a little bouncy now with all the weight.

Yea! With all the rotating mass installed I think I wud have to prop the other end w/ a 2*4 or something till I got ready to remove it frm the stand after watching that episode. Those guys pretty much know what they're talkin abt IMO.

Did you get your carb issue resolved? Was it the carb or maybe the linkage bracket (the brackets themselves or maybe the brackets on the carb)?

The carb Im using is incorrect but should work for intial start up and break in. I have a correct carb for a 250 but its got all that crap on it. I might see if I can remove it, if so I may rebuild that one and use it. Otherwise I will purchase a reman from classic inlines.

    Little more progress today.

Exhaust manifold cleaned up with wire wheel.

    Decided to go silver

New PCV valve grommet, had no idea how loose the old was.

Needed lube that to get it in there.

The new water pump arrived today from Rock Auto. I painted it and just snugged it place. I changed the color of the power steering pump to silver. Im a little goofy and thought it looked more balanced with the silver alternator on the other side. I also removed the fan from the 200 and sat it in place. It has the wrong spacer on it. Just wanted to see what it will look like. Should be able to finish it up tomorrow.

That's looking sweet!!!!! I'm digging all the details like the signature and ford wingnut!! Yellow cables look good to, not sure what color I'm going with but I am liking that yellow!

Thanks Kevin, Ive had those wires forever, I love the yellow. #6 has been pulled out of the brass end so many times that its getting too short. They are 8mm super stock wires. Might be time for new ones.

You're making me wish I'd have freshened up my 250 a little before I dropped it in, but I was in a hurry. Maybe later. Looks great.

I dont really need it anymore. I put it on the 200 because I was having trouble keeping the temp down at highway speeds. I think Im going back to the stock fan. I put a shroud on the car along with the flex fan, I think that was the biggest help.

Finished the build yesterday. I probably put too much on it, but to me, it's easier to do it now than after the engine is in the car.

Here is the new water pump.

    Here is the exhaust manifold.

Everett had me worried about all the weight on the stand so I built a brace.

Here is the belts and factory fan.

No pic, but today I shortened the wires from the Pertronix to the coil.

The engine will sit for a month or 2 while I strip my engine bay and paint it the color of the car. I'm going to post that work here also. Then finish with the new engine in the car.
