The Cleavland valve size were different, cc was different. The 351C-2V have smaller ports and open chambers instead of wedge chambers. Boss 302 has screw-in studs and valve guides.
Since this has veered off topic. Did any of you guys know that they produced a 302 Cleveland in Australia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_335_engine about half way down the page.
Yes and it was built for alot longer period of time than in the US. They also run inline 6's in their cars if you can get one they are everything the american 6's arent. They can put alot of factory and warmed over v-8's to shame.
the 221, 260 and 289 were called challenger engines in fairlanes 62 to 65....I have a 63 sportscoupe 4 speed... My car is just like this one pictured here... enjoy... I love this body style !!!!!
Valve sizes were only slightly different on the 69 Boss heads (2.23 vs 2.19). Ditto on the chamber sizes. Hardly enough to say they're different. The Boss 351 heads were virtual identical carryovers from the 70 Boss 302 heads.
wow i really hope i can have as much knowledge as you guys do soon. Thats so impressive lol. Speaking of which any good websites you guys know of that i can start reading to start gaining alot of knowledge about it?
Great book for small blocks is HOw to Rebuild Your small block ford. Its loaded with specs and info. Its an old book if you can find it but you will learn a lot from it. I had it memorized 20 years ago. Back the I could tell you the comb. chamber volumes for all the small blocks up to early 70's. Still have it somewhere.
Yep one poor old Eliminator that didnt get restored. They crushed the chassis after I got the engine.
Only keep in mind that all the reference books are full of mistakes. It's only when you compare all, that you'll notice. Another good one is Ford Performance by Pat Ganahl
