Hey guys, I'm trying to return my car to column shift. Getting rid of the z-gate...

Anyways, I've got all the rods, but I don't have the stud that goes into the block. This was a 6 cylinder conversion to a 302, hence the floor shifter. But I'd like to get it back to column.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the right part? I've seen z-bar and equalizer bar studs, but I wasn't sure if that was for the automatic as well.

    Thanks for any help

Not like a Z bar stud... It's just a 2" or so bare ended stud that screws into block, I believe thread is 7/16"... I'll guess 6cyl & v8 linkage are different... If your block is newer than '80 or so it won't have the boss for stud, Mustang venders sell a bracket that's held in place by a couple bell housing bolts...

My engine is an early to mid-70's 302. I've found the boss just below the manifold. I'm trying to find the bare stud that screws in there. I have a friend that has all the rest of the linkage, except that. Is there a part number that I can reference or a site that sells that part specifically?

The linkage at the bottom of the column has to be for a V-8. 6 cyl is different

Yeah, I understand. I just need to know the name for the stud in the block. My friend has all the rest of the linkage for a V8

I suspect other than NOS you'll not find, Mustang were all floor shift so didn't use the automatic version...

You could make a stud from a 302 head or main bearing cap bolt(assuming it's 7/16)
