Well, I got it pumped to 18 psi, and am embarrassed and relieved to find the upper hose connection to the radiator was not tight enough...I used a nut driver to get it to stop leaking and went a little beyond that. I gave all my hose clamps a little extra twist. put in another 18 psi and 15 minutes later I still had it.....so there ya have it. I feel dumb that I needed a pump to find that, but am looking forward to next Spring to put it back on the insurance policy and flog it real good for making me feel stupid and, of course, to see if anything else leaks. I will use Franks method next.
Well the important thing is you found it, the word KISS comes to mind, I know I have been in your shoes before and willing to bet everybody on here has at one time or another with one problem or another so dont beat yourself up.
LOL, xxit happens. Slightly over a year ago, I replaced the heater core in my Cobra Jet. Well things snowballed and I was soon connecting(and hiding) a relay for electric choke conversion on the old Holley, pulling accessories, detailing front of engine and so on. After careful reassembly, guess what? At about five minutes of run time, the upper hose I thought was tight enough, squirted on radiator. Fan caught coolant and slung it all over my new paint work etc. Arrrgh... Had to rinse everything with fresh water, then spend better part of a hour drying two days worth of detailing.
