I need help fast. Is there any way at all for me to put my 302 in my maverick without the 302 frame mounts. I have to put the engine in as soon as possible because my 200 died.

I used 64 falcon mounts in the model A. (One side is longer than the other, so you have to get two of the shorter mounts.) These have a stud pointing down, so with a little angle iron, a drill, and a welder, these may get you buy, without tearing up the frame.

I used my 250 6cyl stands with 78 ford f-150 mounts and i think you could squeeze by with the 6cyl crossmember but had a double hump crossmember so i used that ,did a lil grinding here and there. I think the regular v8 mounts are just a waste of money. My car is running and drives great. Just my 02 cents.

So you used the frame mounts that came with the maverick and used 78 f-150 motor mounts?

    If you do a search...

I used taller 66 Mustang mounts bolted right to the frame horns with 3/4" spacers between the mounts and engine block.

When you guys said that you fliped ths 6 cylinder fram mountd backwards, did you mean on the other side of the frame, or literaly backwards and grind th mount to fit flush.

I used the mustang motor mounts NO frame mounts just bolted them to where I removed the 200 frame mounts with a thick walled spacer.

Are there any induced hood clearance issues by using the "Joe Dirt" approach vs. purchasing the mustang/mav v8 frame mounts and Maverick 302 motor mounts? I know the mustang motor mounts are taller than the mav mounts is why I ask and I am installing a 351W. Thanks!

FYI, Joe Dirt worked for me, sits very low, so much in fact, my steering linkage would touch my oil pan on full turn in both directions. I shimmed the mounts at the block for clearance, still no interference with the hood. Thanks!
