Ok ,let me get this thread straight ,i have a 68 mexican block and the new 347 rotating assemble , also 2 or 3 victor jr intakes ,carbs ,ignition, roller rockers, roller lifters ect ,ect , my machinest said that what i have now in new parts sitting on the shelf i could build a 500 hp engine.I have enough parts to build three engines in my shop becuase i have 4 cars im going to build all v8. Now my 71 grabber in my signiture is my baby ,this one i will spare no expence ,if the boss 302 block will make a much greater bottom end i will buy this block ,but if i buy the boss block i want to push as many hp and torque out of it as i can on pump gas .If the block ,and a new rotating asseblly, new pistons ,new cam ,new heads ,super victor jr intake new carb ect ,ect will give me 600 + hp and 600 ft lb of torque that is the direction i want to go for next racing season ,ive budgeted 8 grand for a new engine, give 2 grand more if i have to.I will put the other Mexican block 347 engine in Bevs (Grabbergirl719) 71 GRABBER .Ive told the machine shop he can build two engines for me in the next 6 months

If the tune-up is right, on pump gas he could safely spray a 150 shot and then the 600 is attainable on 93 octane. Is 93 ocatane the highest available at the pump in Canada??

I'm fairly confident that my 347 was making at least 600 on the spray.....the block didn't like it and decided to crack under the pressure. It was 10.5:1 and loved pump gas but when I was spraying it I would step up to a good racing gas to decrease the chances of detination. I was spraying a 250 shot. Car weighed 3150 lbs. , and went a 6.08 in the 1/8th mile.

Canadas best pump gas chevron premium 94 octane ,this thread is getting stupid ,ill just build my Boss 347 engine and when its done ill post pics and a copy of thr dyno runs ,cheers folks ,oh and ill post the cheap Mexicam block 347 dyno to ,both will be built in the next three months. PS my Boss 347 will be built and dynoed in the next 3 weeks to 1 month.I personally think both will push out large hp and torque ,but the Boss 347 will last longer under heavy hp conditiond due to the thicker cylinder walls ,thicker main caps ,4 bolt mains and 1/2 inch bolts

well its a better combo than small cam and huge carb

but that cam now is pretty big and i would say the carb is a much better choice

are you running a solid or hydrolic roller cam?
