351W cam into a 302??

    My 302 has a 351W/HO 302 cam:
    Holman Automotive
    Hydraulic flat tappet XX290
    .470/.474 lift
    290 degrees duration

    Voodoo split duration!
    Cool. That will shake the car a little.
    I can't use that due to stock heads and push in studs.
    That .488" on my cam makes me nervous about pulling studs.
    I have heard of lift as low as .474" pulling a stud on an SBF.

    That Voodoo would be an excellent nitrous cam...

    If you are not using nitrous, and using aftermarket heads, you may not really need all that extra duration on the exhaust. That is generally used to aid stock heads with restrictive exhaust, or with nitrous. Not that it would hurt anything. Just thinking aloud.
