can this 3d rendering be used in computer wind tunnel simulators?
can it be used for a 3d printer?

You know that's an interesting question. I have thought about the 3D printer idea, but never thought about wind tunnel simulators... That would be interesting to see how either one would turn out. Since I can save the car in various formats, I'm sure it would work for both.

are your models just skins or is there a chassis? I would love to have fords blueprints so it would be easier to design some parts.

That would be sweet!! Do you happen to know what file format would be needed? I hope it is workable enough at this point to do that. I would love to see this come off a 3D printer! (y) Btw, is the material a type of plastic?

OMG yes some blueprints would have made this WAY easier! I've been doing this strictly from photographs all this time. I already know my model isn't prefect. Heck I just recently noticed that the back end of a Maverick is slightly wider than the front, which I did not incorporate into my model. :slap: However I thought it best to leave it as is until it's finished, as I have found it would be easier for me to fix that later.

As of right now, I am still working on the chassis. I am hoping to make it complete with all steering arms, coil springs, shocks, driveshaft, axles, etc. Luckily, most of that stuff is pretty easy to model. The hardest part is the engine and the floorboards. The body, I guess you could call it a "skin" as it has no depth to it at all lol! I was also hoping to find some scale drawings of a 302 engine so I could model that too, but I have not been able to find any.

The file types that can be printed are sldprt, step, igs. Also I have a cad drawing of the air dam that I put on mashoris car that I can send you if you want to try adding it to your model?

Ok cool. That means it's a SolidWorks format, which I cannot directly save from my program, unfortunately. However, let me do some research and I'll get back to you.

As for the air dam, sure!! I would love to try and import it and see how it turns out! :thumbs2:

Not yet. I've just been a huge supporter of Brakenan's work and I too want to change the paint job to see what my Maverick might look like. First I have to figure out the Rendering process and then the texturing process.

I do custom renderings and custom modeling as well. Look in my signature for the link to my 3D Maverick site.
