3G Altenator Fuse

    Hmmm...And i got a STEAL deal on that 6 gauge. It rang up for like 75 cents a foot.

    Let me toss this out there...

    the alternator is CAPABLE of 130 A, but my setup will never actually draw it. Or will it?

    Probably not.
    You cud calculate all ur accessories for max current draw and get a gud idea what u'll be comsuming current wise. My only concern is using the 6 gauge w/ the 150 amp breaker. If I were going to use the 6 wire I wud step the breaker to 100 amp. I wud want the breaker to go b4 the wire got hot enough to burn. JMO

    If you ever have a problem just hope that breaker trips before the wires start to burn - once they start the breaker might as well not be there.
    Get the 2 guage wire. I used 00 gauge on my mustang.

    Ford installed 175 amp megafuses on their 3G alternators from the factory. There's a guy on ePay that sells good used ones for about $2 apiece.
