Ok.....so what is wrong with the 4 lug? Why is everybody switching to the 5 lug?
I am still figuring all the stuff I'll need for my 302 into my 200-6 swap, and this is one of the last things....I have already considered rear ratios... is it just about bigger tires and brakes....disc, that is? My rear end is 8" if I'm correct and am going to build a highway cruiser, not a dragster.( I might get a little of both if I stick that AOD in, though...) I don't see any reason for the 9", (so far). A limited slip would seem like a nice thing to have.....any thoughts, ?
    Thanks:rolleyes:

    I've had a few
Mainly for the fact that it is 5 lug. Alot more wheels available for 5 lug.

Also the brakes are bigger on the 5 lug and disc are only available in 5 lug. A 9" is not needed in most cases.

disc brakes are a safety factor. no need for a 9". the 8" is good for about 350hp. that's subject to opinions. definitely a lot of wheel options on the 5 lug. if you change to the 5 lug rear end. you need to change the front so you can get the same wheel pattern. unless you like to carry 2 spares.:)

call the yards in hayward and fremont/newark.there are a lot of mav parts. found my front discs there and my uncle pulled a center for his mustang from a four door there. got them on half off days too. if i still lived in that area id have new boomerangs already. dont forget you can use the front spindle off of other cars as well so search the board for as much info as you can before you go.(y)
