Just tell Nick there is this great little place on the web where the Maverick and Comet owners hang out and chat.
I know Nick, he's in my model car club, heard rumors of his maverick but never saw it in person, he also has an Anglia nicknamed "Alien".
i have a 1971 maverick that had a boss 302 that ran 10.62 back in 1974 still have the time slip just found it in the car
Why doesn't someone just ask Zuk to join the board? It's been 4 years... and he obviously does other things club related, so the board would be natural for him.
I think that old pinto of his is for sale. $5,000 I think. He has some town car badges on it with the N removed. So it's a Tow Car. my car used to run a 9.89 and it has drums. EDIT: he got back from Alaska a few months ago, he was test driving the new F-150's, He got to meet Alex Debagorski from Ice Road Truckers too.
Well, Nick does still have the Maverick in his garage. I just saw it the other day burried under a bunch of covers. It hasn't seen daylight in quite a while. No current plans to do anything with it that I know of as I have been bugging him to sell it to me or do somthing with for years. It is a very cool car!!!!!! Very well done. The only pictures I have are the ones in Hotrod, and I remember seeing it at the Detroit Autorama when I was a kid. Jon
And to think I use to live in Wayne & Westland. Left Michigan when I was 18. Only been back to visit... Wonder if my brother knew him. My brother worked at the Wayne truck plant. Drove the trucks off the line & to the parking lot. Got to take some on test drives also....
That Comet belongs to one of our members here...Rick Porter. Have seen it run many times, and it is wicked fast. If you check out the timeslips listed on here, you'll see he is in 1st place. I'm hot on his heels though. I only need to move up about 35 spots to catch him.
Just talked to him on the phone, didn't learn much about his car but found out he has some fiberglass 74'-77' bumpers up for grabs.
