    That's a light duty, single vertical rib case, better versions have two vert ribs. Does it use 31 spline axles?

    You mentioned '57 rear end but that D2SW-C carrier support is 1972 at earliest.

    The center was out of an 83 van, 31 spline. The rear axle housing is from a 57ish Ford, 28 spline axles. Gonna trade the 31 spline center for a 28 spline. Was the only one I was able to find after looking in 2 different pull yards.

    While 28 spline axles are fine for small block and even mild 390, for a 460 I'd stick with 31.

    Know of any cars with 31 spline axles same length as ours? I'd like to avoid having to buy Currie cut-to-fit axles, to save some bucks, if possible.

    Finally picked up the housing, started removing rust with a gel. It's late, gonna prime,paint, clear tomorrow afternoon
