Like it or not, that guy did a fantastic job. The bond between the fiberglass and metal would worry me. Hope it dont start cracking in the future. I'd still like to know what he used.

If it looks good on the car, we can make one out of metal with the help of your new tool.

I was worried about the metal/fiber thing too.
I asked a friend that builds street rods to bond a fiber scoop to a metal hood once.
He said that it never works right.
The metal expands much faster than the fiber, when used as a cover for the engine compartment, so you at least get paint cracking at the seams.
Worst case though is fiberglass cracking and separating.
I took his word for it and never looked back.
He did say that it is reasonably do-able if you are not dealing with a hood. It is the engine heat that makes the biggest risk factor.

Let's see it without the photochop.
It is hard to see the shape through the added color.

My first impression is very good...

Rick just one suggestion. Be cautious of using the stock hood prop rod. I'm not sure how heavy that new hood is, but the way the prop rod works puts, a lot of twisting forces on the hood. That may want to break the glass/metal bond. I like the design though. Different is a good thing. We need do need an unedited version though.

That has good some possibilities, Rick. My faith in this project is greatly increased by Frank's lack thereof.:tiphat:

Ha! Oh yea of little faith. I will post an 'unedited' virgin of the hood,
HOWEVER (here comes the qualifier), it being Primer Gray is going to make it
    look SO out of place.

However...... I bow down and offer my neck unto my brethren:
(Before my beheading, my final request is one last sip. :drink: Thanks.)
