The electrical connector is different. You can make an adapter if you have the connector for the 69.5 switch and the lead coming off of the column start switch.

Your signal switch won't fit early column either...

Hmm...good information. I might just take one of my spare columns and shave the the key off then. As for the connectors, does any one having a wiring diagram for it? I can make an adaptor no problem just need to know the wires.

When I put the 72 A/C harness in mine I just spliced the wires and made an adapter with an old ignition switch. The wires are the same color just different plug. If I am not mistaken you can get the pigtail for the 69.5 switch from a parts store. Here is the one from AutoKrafters http://www.autokrafters.com/p-12587-ignition-switch-wiring-harness.aspx

Do you have the switch mount?

I just picked up a so called 69 1/2. It’s pretty rough but a complete original car. I’m not sure what to do with it, fix it or part it out. I think it would be cool to fix. It still has all of the original dog dish hub caps. I have a couple of parts cars to fix the body issues, but it would take a lot. The key in the dash is pretty cool in my book. They also have a falconish bolt in gas tank that they only used in 69 1/2 and 1970.

I actually crafted a 1967 gas tank kit out of a mustang because it was way cheaper, but it took some work. But a welder and cutting tools comes in handy.
