Vermillion and "Thanks Vermillion" are two different colors. 'Thanks vermillion' is darker and metallic. Vermillion is the same as Calypso Coral, which is the same as Poppy Red on the 65-66 Stangs! Great color. The 69.5's had the same color too, called 'Home on the Orange'. :bananaman Choose the name you like best! Great car!
hmmmm....... just a thought, by the way nice find and what a price too, but what happens if you see her again and she says "I thought you were going to use the car for parts?". Or, by the time she sees it again, will she not recognize it? ........Robert
I told the lady I might part it out or fix it, wasn't sure. Depended on what I found as I clean it up & inspect it closer. She was hoping I'd fix it. She said if I parted it out, she didn't want to know about it. If she comes by work & sees it now. I think she'll understand that I'm not parting it. That should make her day. She just wanted someone to have it that could use it for whatever. She did have tears in her eyes as she walked away, the day I bought it. It has been her daily driver for 20 years. Crying women have a tendancy to get to me. So, I will fix it in her honor & keep it alive. Of course when I'm done, she will probably cry again (tears of joy). I guess I just can't win with women crying. LOL
Come on Coop, don't you feel a bit guilty? If you do, I am sure you could sell it to one of us to relieve your conscience. Seriously, it's looking good!!! Charlie, thanks for the info on the Vermillion colors. Edit: I just seen your post on her having it for 20 years! Wow, I am sure she would be glad to see someone taking interest and the time to restore the car she had enjoyed for so many years.
Sorry guys, it's not for sale. If I were to sell one of my cars, it would be the 74 Comet 4dr with factory 302, C-4, & bucket seats. Still haven't made up my mind on selling as of yet. Will keep you posted.
now that's a cool story....hope she likes the "new" mav....and I'm sure she will be proud when it is finished.....Robert
After painting the hood Grabber stripe with a rattle can. It was time to get some pinstriping tape & finish the job. Here it is completed. Not to bad for someone who doesn't know what he's doing (if I say so myself).....LOL
