Hi Guys I wasn’t set out to purchase another Maverick, however, a fellow that my son went to school with (Mitch) hangs out at my shop when he can. Well he found a 70 Maverick in a barn that a fellow bought from an original owner, and when this fellow brought it home that night, the next morning, he found a tree had fallen on it. So Mitch brings it to my shop, and it has the front fender......... well that looks like a tree fell on it. So Mitch wants to fix this and drive it, so I jumped in to help him and while looking at the car, I’m very surprised that the Maverick is 98% rust free. So after looking at this outside my shop for the past few weeks, I kinda grew a liking to it, and bought it.... now the last thing I need is another project, but how often do ya get a 70’s car with little to no rust. It’s been in the barn for about 12 years, and before that was in the lady’s home garage. So it just so happens tomorrow is Carlisle Ford Nationals, so my wife and I are going to head down, and see what’s there. I’ll post up some pictures when I figure out where.
Thanks Guys, it will be a bit before I do anything major to it, but I’m thinking it should make a great run around towner ! ! And hello Georgia, and Ohio.
Thank You Guys well my wife and I did Carlisle Ford Nats, and didn’t see anything that might have to come home for the Maverick. So the most I’ll do for now is get some new front tires, so I can at least move it around. I also want to drop the tank, and clean it out, and check the cooling system, radiator and so on. It needs a serious bath inside, and the exhaust is full of what ever decided to live there while it was stored. I’ll start another thread and keep ya posted.
