I agree, it can be done but it is a pain in the butt and involves much cussing and patience!

I would also suggest that you find where the water came in to rust out the floor pans...cowl leak, bad windshield gasket, heater box... for a few places it may be leaking.

I think it was the rear side window seals, the car sat outside uncovered for 2 or 3 years

I am going to do some practice pieces first to see what happens, I can't afford to spend $300 on a MiG welder thats why I got the Harbor Freight flux core welder.... plus all my work is going to be done outside not in a garage where I could use gas with the MiG..

First time ever painting with a spray gun usually use a spray can I know I still need some practice most definitely especially in prep work, well it is serving its purpose to keep the Hood from rusting....

the other side is a little better I still have to work on my prep work and adjusting my gun it is spraying way too much paint, for both sides of the hood I went through a quart of primer and that rust encapsulator primer is expensive so I really have to get it adjusted....

I had rust in my trunk floor. I coated the floor with POR 15 and laid fiberglass matt in it, more POR 15 and a layer of fiberglass cloth, followed by more POR 15. I used this method under my battery tray, and to a small area on my core support. None of it has cracked or delaminated in any way. Replacing the sheet metal IS optimum, and I finally did have to bite the bullet and learn to weld anyway when it came time to build an exhaust system. Keep it up.

Just got my Marti report on my Maverick and it is supposed to be Hulla Blue

guess that is what this color is, so will probably re-paint it this color when it is time to paint it, maybe add a ghost blue pearl to it (who knows at this point)...
Here is the hood I bought after I primed it, but didn't prep it good enough so will have to re-prep it

will post the updated pics of the hood I bought after I fix (sand better) and re-prime it
