Comet never made it to paint, I held off. I didn't like the quality that was coming out of the shop. I'll be handling the rest of the body with a friend helping with final prep. My friend knows a top notch painter so it will go to him and I'll rent a booth. Ranchero is more of a driver with little odds and ends like gas gauge not working and A/C not working.
Nice buy! My eyes popped when I saw the pic of the interior. I have always been a fan of this body style in all of it varieties. I would love to make a (did not exist) 2 door wagon. Read a discussion suggesting using a Ranchero and a wagon roof together. Here is my second car .... 71 Torino Brougham, 351C 2bbl, really nice old-man patterened cloth bench seats, vinyl top. Started out light blue/medium blue top. Painted it AMC Midnight Blue and dyed the top black. Load 5 of your closest friends in it and crank the AC up to "frost" .... The best highway car. Had it while in college, and could literally load everything I owned into it, including a 10 speed bike(between the seats) and two guitars. Huge trunk.
NW stands for North West, and was mostly sold in Oregon and Washington. Since moving to the Northwest, I have found two different guys with Torino NW's. Very cool.
