    70ProStreet,

I had read somewhere about the odometer reading you had on your B/SM car................I just went out to look as I have never noticed before and the reading is 33,123.00 miles...............no telling when the speedo was disconnected.

Eh, right now the setup is a 347 H.O. Stroker with aluminum heads (which we're probably gonna paint Ford blue), .531 lift hyd. roller cam, forged internals, we're hoping for between 450 and 500 horepower from it, and for now the trans is gonna be a built C4 but my cousin has a toploader that eventually I'd like to put in...

    Sounds like a plan.
I have one of the two original "crash boxes" that were in the car during its B/SM days. It looks like it was rebuilt sometime ago, but has the big bearing input shaft................I think it was rebuilt by Liberty some years ago. I will never go back to a clutch because I am too old.............I can send you some pictures if you'd like.
Nothing like a SBF dumping the clutch at 7000rpm to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

Now that's what I'm talking about! lol I'm afraid to take my car over 6,500rpm with the set-up we got but eventually I want a solid lifter cam for it, and what's funny is Liberty Gears is in my neighborhood, it's like 2 blocks away...we just have a C4 in it because it's cheaper for us right now, someday I'll have a 4-speed in it though...eventually I want it running mid-10's but I'm not sure that will happen right away...

There are a lot of C4s out there running times below 10 seconds.....
Drag racing with a four speed breake more things, is less consistant and more expensive than racing with a C4 that is properly prepared.
I like running through the gears as much as anyone but I would never use a four speed in a drag race - you lose a minimum of .3 seconds in shift time and if you use a turbo it costs you for the time it takes for the turbo to recover the boost it loses when the engine is unloaded.
(The engine is unloaded even in a really good power shift)

Yes, it was Byron. Arlen told me he still has the mangled gravel pan that he took off the car.
