not sure where to post this.i am so far over my skis at this point with this restore!my interior was always in "good" shape, not "show" but people were surprised.i knew where all the flaws where but they didnt.i could use a new headliner and carpeting if the outside is going to be as good as it looks like its going to be.do to the az sun i got so many differt shades of green going on in there now. the seats and inside door panels are faded.i have that ivory gold thing going on in there.my leatherdash pad(ivorygold) is perfect no cracks and SOFT it almost makes me think that it was replaced the way everything else was dryrotted.i'm starting to think about changing the interior to black.headliner and carpet, big step towards that right?all my plastic panels are in great shape(i bought new back ones a while ago).painting them black wouldnt be a problem.we've got the doors off so painting the metal on them black,no big deal. how do the inserts hold up to paint, where the door handle and window crack are?maybe someone has a set in black i could buy.back package tray where the 6x9 speaker go no prob.that little rap around piece from the back window to back seat panels, should be no prob. metal on dash(where the emblem goes) and underneath package tray paint black right?dash piece that hold the speedo no prob painting black right?please tell me if i'm missing anything.painting that perfect leather dash pad, would that be a problem?i'd hate to cap it,its in that good of shape.guys i know damn well i'm rambling.never in my wildest dreams did i think the outside restore was going to be as extensive and i'd have to be a fool not to try and do something with the interior.does anyone make seat covers for high back buckets, and the back seat that you guys who have done these interior swops are HAPPY with?i think i have covered everything.please hit a weary guy over the head if i've missed something, and please any,any helpful tips would be soooooooo greatly appreciated.

Doing the same change myself right now ... going from green-gold to black.

The only thing that makes me hesitate in your case is the perfect dashpad... a lot more black ones out there than there are that color.

I have had better luck using black armrests than redyed ones. Eventually you will wear through to the original color. Same goes for door panels. I have not been happy with big color changes. There seem to be a good supply of black interior parts on eBay... even if you have to repaint or redye, I like that better as a starting point myself.

If you wanted to redye back to close to the original color, I would say use what you have. Mustang suppliers ought to have something very close if not exact.

I am using Krylon Fusion for all the plastic pieces and it seems to be doing the trick.

One of the members here does complete kits of seat skins ... see this thread http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=56477&highlight=bucket+upholstery
PS ... I grew up in Itasca ... not too far from you. (y)
