    Let me say this the mavericks & comets are if you will the final frontier for fords & mercury's to be restored and restomoded. Try and buy any other ford out there to due this to and you will start with double or triple. And I just attended the YEAR ONE car show in Braselton GA there was every kind of car imaginable there mustangs,camaros,chevelles, challengers,etc and Dan Hines had his awesome red 71 Grabber there and I watched as tons of people came up and had some sort of story or connection to a maverick and he took home a top twenty people choice award for the second time there.This over what I saw were some of the BEST top notch restomods & restored originals out there anyone want pictures I took a ton. So confused 72 welcome to the final frontier no dought you have the skills to make the red grabber a show stopper or another one if you chose but stay focused it will pay off in the end result BRIAN.....................

    I agree. Camaro to Chevelle to Nova. Whats left for the Chevy guys? Late model smogger Nova, Mid eighties Malibu???

    Same with the Fords. I think it will work its way down to the Mavs and Comets as the other cars increase in value and decrease in availability.

    This comes from a cj Torino man. He knows expensive. Perfect example. A Cobra Jet Torino. One of my dream cars but too much money. I can build my Mav and still have a good family life on my income. Could have done it with a Torino years back but not now. They bring big money now.

    thank you my friend, i truly do have the mighty mav sickness. i have been dragging my butt trying to finish the 70 chevelle in my shop, but i have been spending all of my time looking and searching for that special little maverick that calls out my name. the problem is that i have no patience, and i no that i must. i have now been thinking about buying a super clean low miled six banger car and just making what i want. there is a red one owner 70 in texas, and that super nice blue 71 in portland orgon. the blue one has my attention, my dad had the exact car back in the day, but at 8500.00 for a plain jane no way. i might be willing to go 5000.00 on that car. the red one in texas is 5900.00... you see i knew this would happen. i didnt want to get into building one because i wont be able to stop and i will end up going all out when i know i should not. {AND THE GOD FATHER SAID, JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS OUT.... THEY GO AND DRAG ME BACK IN}

    I know just how you feel. I set out for a 302 Grabber with AC that needs no body and paint. Didnt want to get into a full blown project again. That didnt work out. Go figure. Check out my car in projects thread under Mav pics. Ended up with a strip it down to metal project. It was worth it though.

    Just too put in my two cents. I'm a car guy who loves to build its my passion. Even when you find that perfect car its still not quite perfect. I have personally learned its money ahead to build what I want. Just find the best platform to start with. Especially if you are able to do the work your self. Even if FOOSE built it there would be something you would want to change. LOL :D Good luck CONFUSED72 I'm also looking for a good platform. (y)
