Thanks. It did open up a bit more wasted room and it made it even easier to get around in there. I also liked the look.
Three pieces each side. It was pretty heavy plate. If we had a brake at the time that would have been easy.
Was all set to weld em in and then saw yours...thanks ! Lol it's all good ! So we cleaned shop and I marked, pondered, took some measurements and pondered more. I really like what you did there, nice clean look for that edge... Mine are 12 gauge, .105 thick. One piece I formed at work, so I could bend mine there. It's all about getting room so why not get all ya can and look that much better..think I'm in...
My depth on top is close to yours, I'm 1.75 up from a arm bolts and 2 back into the Tower. Yours looks more like 2.75 ish? Nice welds too !
I really like the way you did your shock towers. Can I have the measurements for the cuts and plates snake? I'd like to do mine the same way. That's quite a bit more room.
I really wish I had taken measurements, but the front end of the car has changed since then and that sheetmetal is gone now. We just eyeballed it as we went, moved the front suspension around and checked clearance to the coils until we got to the minimum distance we wanted. I made the templates out of cardboard and then transferred to steel plate. You could probably use some of the factory mounting holes you see in my photos to get a starting point.
