yea but yours is gonna turn out quite a lot nicer. I think the other 2 are sweet looking but you're really getting into the details of that car, gonna be exceptional!

    Nice Thomas :thumbs2:

I worked for a locomotive rebuilder years ago and the one thing I really miss, from my days working at that company, is the Pangborn glass bead booth. I ran a lot of parts through that booth.

bob, we did not use glass beads, but a mineral - 'corundum', does that make sense? i will have a hard time polishing the valve covers again, but i'll have them painted black and will just polish the fins...

in the meantime, i decided to open up the toploader again - to change out the reverse idler gear:

I had a 71 Torino painted a very similar color ... I couldn't help but look at it as much as possible if I was anywhere near that car ... you'll really like it. It is like painting a car black, but even more interesting because, it is just as shiny, but the blue highlights make for another dimension for you to study the lines of the car with.

Like black .... it looks fabulous clean .... and you will know immediately if it ever gets dirty. With the level of detail that you are exerting on this car, I doubt that will ever be a problem.

Are you striping the car? ... if so, what color?

As always, I am thoroughly enjoying following your progress on the Comet. :thumbs2:

    Ausgezeichnet Tody!!!!

I just finished reviewing this entire thread and you are doing unbelievable work. You are going to have a Comet to be proud of.

I just posted my Comet project this month and looking at what you had to go through repairing the rust on your body, makes me thank my lucky stars that I didn't have to go through that.

Keep up the fantastic job, I am thoroughly enjoying this thread.
