Stefan's right, Thomas. My back hurts everytime I work on my Maverick.

Sometimes this car causes me a pain just a bit lower

i surely will take a rest. i have had the problems with my lower back for 10 years now, since my rowing days. the best sport on earth, but my back wasn't made for it...

gene, it's supposed to be dark ford blue. mixed after the original paint samples, it's pretty close.

It IS dark. You think the dark primer added to making it so dark?
Every time I think I found the shade of blue that I like, I see another. It's awsome! Sure wish I could see it inperson. Can't wait to see pics of it in the sun light.

sorry about your back, I would think the rowing days would have made for one super strong back. Just throwing it out there but I've been having a lot of success having my patients do acupuncture, not so much success with the chiropractors. anyway, car looks awesome, don't mean to get off topic. actually car looks AMAZINGLY AWESOME . . . there, that's better.

So has the car been sanded and buffed yet?

craig, the car has been wet sanded after painting and will get polished when it is all together. the pictures just don't do the pint job justice - i really should take a decent camera instead of my cell phone.

my back is just a little bit better, but not much. couldn't resist working on the car though. taillight panel and trunk are now nearly complete:

Looks awsome! You hit the nail on my head on the color. I know I have said it before that I have found my color, but I was settling. They were all close but THIS IS IT. This is the color I dream of with silver reflective stripes and a silver vinyl top and all the chrome/stainless options.
The pics are inspiring even tho they are from a phone. I can't wait to see her with her robe off. Take it off, take it all off lol (the plastic cover ).

In earlier photos, I would have said the color was black but I see the true blue color now and it just keeps getting better and better :thumbs2:

It's funny but, from keeping up with the thread, I feel like I can say "I knew this car when it was first born" :D

Car looks great. Thanks for keeping with the thread so diligently. You have a great color. I love it. It reminds me of the dark blue I had on my 89 mustang. Good choice.
I hope that your back feels better. I have similar issues with my lower back. Take care and rest it.

I helped by looking at the pictures :biglaugh:

Actually Thomas helped all of us out immensley by providing me with that Europeon Maverick emblem part number that, once the numbers were converted over, led us to be able to make our emblem purchases from North American Ford dealers. :thumbs2::thumbs2:

    thanks guys :)
you all helped me rather a lot with the invaluable information i found on here!

my back is getting better, acupuncture really seems to help.

i put insulation in the roof and the headliner on the bows so it can hang for a week - it was rather crinkled from sitting in a box for a year:

i also put in the back speakers and the rear package tray:

after putting in the wiring harness i had difficulties mating main and rear harness - plugs didn't fit. i had gotten the main harness off ebay and now have run into the little differences between 71 and 72. seems like 71 had the turn signal lights in the rear side markers which 72 had not. so there are two extra wires hence two different plugs. i have thoroughly gone through the wiring diagrams and it looks like an easy fix...
