I hope that you will favor us by posting some driving videos online.

I made a big deal out of it when I had my 1974 on the road again for the first time in over 10 years. Special 1974 music and someone along for the ride to write notes of all the little things that I noticed that needed to be adjusted/fixed/tweaked.

Did you find a new climate control plate or are you going to have a go at fixing the one that you have?

    videos will surely be posted!
i got myself one of the gopro cameras, in the motorsports kit with the suction cup for mounting it outside. on the inside, the car is just too quiet - you can barely hear the exhaust.

i already have a NOS climate control plate, but currently, the old is is mounted - until i'm sure i don't need to take apart anything again!

drove the car a little more today.

i'm still thinking about changing the look a little. can't get the shelby europa gt 250 out of my mind: http://www.ponysite.de/shelbyeuropa_GT250.htm

taking a look at the stripe: is that a regular comet gt stripe? just without the comet gt lettering? will a company like graphics express be able to provide me with such a custom stripe?

taking a look at the wheels: the are certainly not r-model rims, are they? they look more like the 69/70 shelby wheels, but the center cap doesn't seem to be the same. any guesses on that one?

That was a neat car. I took a look at old emails I exchanged with the ponysite.de webmaster many years ago to see if they contained additional info, but all the info in the emails are on his site.

i received the new quarter seals and installed them today. perfect fit, pictures to come.
3-point belts from retro belt also went in.

a little setback on the engine, though. i figured that my massive oil consumption came from the pcv, as the valve covers have no baffle. went with the "comet powered by ford" covers from scott drake. unfortunately, the crane roller rockers hit the covers. just ordered felpro 1645 gaskets, double gaskets with a steel core. they are 5/16" thick and will hopefully give the clearance i need!

Those seals look great! I'm glad they went in without a hitch. :thumbs2:

    Nice as usual ;)

Did you remove the drip rail to paint the car? Mine are off and I am wondering if it will peel the paint off when I go to put them on..

played around with the dynolicious app today.
put the comet on the scales - 1500kg / 3300lbs

found a road which was just long enough - you still can see i was too afraid to push it any further in 3rd and 4th. thus 275 rwhp in 2nd. not too bad, i'd say - as the car is not tuned in yet, i run a 600 holley with stock jetting...

just checked the oil after driving 150 miles - no more oil consumption. what a difference the baffle makes! the difference was that big i had to readjust the carb to make up for the oil that was constantly burned before...
