Kinda new to all of this and trying to understand some of the terminology that is being thrown around, ie. "Shelby drop and Arning drop".,

    Thanks,

Dave: Great idea. Got any leads or sites where I can look at what a drop spindle would cost?

Tony: Shelby drop/arning drop are the same thing. Basically, your drilling new holes for your upper control arms using a plate to line everything up and installing you u.c.a. an inch lower. It's been documented here on the forum that there is a big difference in how your car handles. Search shelby/arning drop for more info. There are some guys that have already done it.

Thanks Sanders739 for the information, thats how you learn by asking questions. I noticed that Jegs and Summitt carry drop spindles in their catalog.

Search the forum and find members that have used Maverick drop spindles before and ask questions. The reason I say this is I have a Mustang II set up and was going to use drop spindles. There are a lot of nice new forged Mustang II drop spindles out there but most, if not all, are built at a 2 inch drop. I have read more than once that 2 inch drop was too much and car owners were changing them. Maybe it is different with Maverick type drop spindles on un-altered suspension. Just be cautious before you buy :)

Thanks for the info.....it's a little frustrating because i could drop my engine in and be driving it around but i would like to get the steering/suspension done first. Maybe I'll have to come back to it once the snow hits.

Rusty, great pics! I'm guessing you did that on your 73 comet. Did you see any noticeable difference in ride height or in handling? Thanks
