I've decided to pass on the car. I didn't even go back to get photos. Where it is a solid project I am not in the need of a solid project. I was looking for something as a driver. I don't think this one was that car.

Also unfortunately I think he sold it or at least took the add down.

I'm back on the search or perhaps I thinkI realized a valuable lesson that I hope would stick.

Having two project mustangs at different stages of repair it's not a good idea to go buy another project car.

hope this one sticks otherwise I'll keep buying projects and never finish one.

    Full disclosure:

    67 Fastback ready for paint
    67 Mustang installing floors
    67 Mustang waiting for ?

    67 Cougar in storage
    67 Cougar wrecked parts car
67 Cougar that I picked up "just because" but a parts car

73 Maverick will be my nephews car when he hits 16 later this year.

I've driven the maverick around and like it, perhaps better than my old 67 mustang that started my madness... which is what has me looking at them. Besides my nephew's car needs a good parts car, right?

I'm still on the fence, if Id gone back I'd have put money down... so I had to avoid that guys place yesterday and today.

Who knows... I'll stew for a few more days but really unless i get a hit on one of my mustang or cougar cars I've got up for sale I cant add.... Bummer too....

this could be someone's project and they could get it going much faster than I ever would be able to do.

Mavericks are more comfortable then Mustangs, more head & leg room, and better trunks. :)

    Good question

The answer is his older brother and the project 67 mustang we got for him. We are still working on it. ( not one listed earlier)

Multiple trips to Dallas to work on it. I had to find something that was a better foundation for him.

The cougars were originally supposed to be his bit again. Too big of a project

All in shocks, tires and/or spring rates...

With a longer wheel base and other factors equal, the Stang should ride better...

I'd agree... SOrry I was commenting to Dave B's comment.

Still thinking about the guys Grabber... May reach out to him and see if he still has it Monday. I'll be back in his neck of the woods and may stop by with a hot battery and some gas.

There is a ring that moves on the column with the floor shift. I think it had something to do with the steering wheel inter lock when the car is in park and the engine is off It did the same thing as if it was a column shift. I bought a new '74 Grabber with buckets and floor shift. I remember installing a small black tachometer on the column just past the ring that moved. There was also another interlock system that you could not start the car unless the seat belt was raised or buckled. The senior for that was under the seats. I disconnected those. As the years went on, there were different safety features.

No sale. I was trying to get a better price and then he said he would not sell it.

If you can't buy it right, it's better peev the guy off enough that he decides to not sell it.

Or perhaps it was that he just won't sell it to me?

If you tried to beat him up too much on the price...I would say you made him mad and he will now not sell the car to YOU, maybe at any price.

That was actually my point. I think I made him mad at me. That was the fora time it has ever happened during negotiations on a car with me too.

I agree... I think I've got one of my cougars sold and someone is asking about one of my mustangs... if I thin the heard down a bit I'll search out a nice one and join the ranks of maverick ownership.

I'm sure i'll be back with more questions. Thanks for the help to all.
