The seller called me today accepting my offer. What should I do? What should I do?

I think I agree. Tonight I'll see about working out the details.

Very close to closing the deal... My second good look at the car and some of the red came out of my rose colored glasses...

I noticed the body damage the rust and that someone had sat on the roof at the front of the windshield had eyebrows.....

    Promised him my decision tomorrow.

If the dent it is the leading edge of the roof, it's tough to get in behind there....What color was it from the factory? "Paper Bag Brown"?

not sure if you can see them but they are 3-4 inches back in one area only one or two in another.

My fastback just had to have this repair done also. It was not easy....

Color, I had origionally thought it was a light green but it almost looks silver is that original?

Door jams were same color as the body...

Notice the RTV Silicone on the roof, Apparently the gasket has failed...

Those dents look on the backside of the inner support. If it was a Silver, that's a pretty rare color. 5A is Light Pewter Metallic

I just got through checking out a color chart for 73? I have no idea what color that is?

I told him I'd do the deal... Also working on picking up an 80 Granada i know of for the disc brakes and possibly an engine swap to V8.... But I dont want to get ahead of myself.

Granada brakes do swap over to this car like they do on a mustang I assume. Need to find a non power master cylinder... 74 Maverick I believe, are they "easy" to come by?

I'll try to get this one running first... Fuel tank is gummed up so I know that will have to be changed out. Time to start learning more about these cars, I guess. Picking it up monday.

Granada stuff, is actually Maverick stuff :)
74 masters are pretty common, shared with 71-73 Mustangs, just a different pushrod.

Can you read the door jamb sticker on the driver's side?

I dont have the car yet its 100 miles away from me, so I don't know.

Looking at these photos... is this car worth 1000.00 I'm having second thoughts.

    Thanks,

It may or may not be. Is it worth $1000 to YOU?

Worst-case scenario would be to have to part it out. How were the floors and the cowl? The sealer around the windshield could be the sign of someone trying to fix a leaky cowl, thinking it's the windshield leaking.

    The Pros:

    • Sport Mirrors
    • Rear Spoiler
    • Floor Shifter & Linkage
    • A/C components
    • Deluxe Door Panels

Based on asking prices on e-Bay and this board, I would say you could recover your $1000 if you had to. Of course, this doesn't take into account towing it home the 100 miles, and the time/energy to remove parts, post ads and answer e-mails.

In my opinion, if the floors and cowl are SOLID with no holes, it would definitely be worth the $1000. The real question is what is it worth putting into AFTER you buy it??

Floors seemed solid. I got as under the car as I could and did not feel any holes. it has been undercoated so that could be hiding some things. I didn't even think about checking the cowl, it could be a crap shoot.

I got a little spoiled in buying the other one for my nephew. It was really nice too nice for a 16 year old actually.

so as a whole and as a parts car it could get me back my 1000.00 invested. That's my main concern. I have fun with this stuff so the time is hobby to me. The outlay for additional parts however.... And I'm not yet a painter.

Balls in my court so I'll do some thinking. No money has exchanged hands yet so I got that going for me.
