Stock is boring. It's a Ford Maverick, not a '64 GTO or a '58 Jaguar.
These cars have a sporty body style but other than that, need all the help they can get.
They are the perfect candidates for upgrades...

I second that. One of the advantages of a Maverick\Comet is that there is not much you can do to these cars, upgrade\modification wise, that lowers their value. As a matter of fact it is usually the opposite, unless it is something truly hideous.

I'm still grappling with it. If it's a one off, it is what it is. Guess I could be just a fool in a sort. Sometimes you see the cheapest of stuff sell and sell for nothing and people dress them up the way they like, it's cheap, why not. Then one day someone says, I've never seen one all original. I guess I am being a sentimental fool! I've had this thing since 2007, I guess it's ugliness may have grown on me as well some how, especially since I love the small bumper look.

But your car is not original. Not even close...

Check out my Marti certified 1 of 1 modified Comet in the Garage section of this forum. I've explained in detail my logic in changing a very rare Comet.

I have the original motor and if all goes well she'll sport her original paint color and stripes this spring. my plans are to keep it original (that could change I promise I'm not being bull headed, just a little cautious) I'd like to have it all stock but I may change my mind, the bumpers are hideous and a friend did give me a dual scoop hood. If I want a fun car though I have a supercharged 87' mustang in the garage . The damn seat belt interlock still works for goodness sake, found that out the hard way! The motor I'm going to rebuild and put back in.

It's your car, restore, mod or even demo derby as you see fit. Just because some have modded their cars, doesn't mean you are obliged to do same.

I appreciate that. Craig said something similar. If it is a one off I think it makes it special. On the other hand I hate those bumpers haha.
