    started to drill out spotwelds today....found out I dont have the correct bit to do this....this is no fun as it is....time to find a better bit....lots of welds to cut..........:cry:

    Get yourself a Blair spotweld cutter and and a handfull of extra cutting heads. A wire wheel, or a box of 3M cookies (The brown ones) on a die grinder will cut the paint and flotsome so you can see where the spotwelds are...

    started cutting the donor car up today...

    now its a matter of triming the new floor to fit in the 76....

    got the 76 in the garage for the floor install..
    [​IMG]
    had to remove the home made frame.....I will use part of the frame for sub frame connectors..

    cut the inside of the wheel wells out....they were very rotten...

    a big hole to fill....:hmmm:

    It looks like your donor car is a 1970 with the drop in gas tank? If so keep in mind that this year has a smaller transmission tunnel than the one that was in your 76. Don't know if that will matter or not :)

    The 76 floor is complete past the tranny cross member...the 70 floor will start from behind the front seat mounts....thanks for the heads up....this project is above my pay grade....I am learning as I go....

    I took my small 70 tunnel out and put a larger one in - I thought I was looking at someone going the opposite direction :cry: :rofl2:

    Nope I think we are good...all the measurements seem to be close for a after the tranny install....I double checked after your post....Thanks...

    Nice work ... especially for learning as you go. This definitely has my interest now.

    Amazing shape on that parts car slice ... very nice condition. If you weren't so far away, I would have been knocking on your door for that drivers rear quarter. Someone here will want some of those leftovers.

    I wish my dad when bought the car would have got the $99.00 rust treatment.....this is what happens when you dont get it....I will install the new floor then deal with this once the jackstands can be moved...

    this is the patch that will be installed after the floor goes in....I havent done this type of repair before so I have been looking at the other threads for info...

    got the rearend out of the donor floor.....made it easier to flip over...I am pleased with the shape of the floor...

    Got the floor for my 76 all clean and undercoated.....now to prep the stallion for the install..........

    Took the night off from the project...I am trying to also complete a 73 Ski doo TnT.........back on the 76 this weekend...
