find and fix the problem with the instrument cluster that is poping the fuse then find the nest problem. their may not be any problem with the cluster now that i think about it. that is only a 4 amp fuse. chances are the problem is not a complete short but is drawing close to the 4 amps and when you put the cluster in, that puts the draw over the 4 amp rating of the fuse and blows it. check over the other components on the fuses circuit.
Well I feel kinda dumb for saying in the original post that the problem was not the radio... turns out it was. After ripping some of the lower dash out I found that the GROUND for the radio was hooked to the blue/red wire. Yeah I feel pretty stupid but what can I say, you live and you learn I should have been looking better I guess. After cutting the old ground wire to the radio the dash worked perfectly, the fuse didn't blow and the coil didn't glow a bit. Thanks to everyone who helped me hahaa!
I just fixed a...self made...electrical problem the other day.(blowing fuses when turning on parking lights)...
I have found that on sooo many cars, even on expert installations from the big box stores. I was going to suggest it, but I figured you had already looked at that.
