   ...thanks...
it looks like my...new expansion valve...is bad. I don't know what a bad one would do, but the Guy at the A/C shop said mine may be...stuck open...stuck closed...stuck in between...:rofl2:
with the gauges hooked up and I start the car...the low side goes to 32...as the car runs for 2-3 mins. it drops to 16...:yup:

Are you sure the refrigerant charge is correct?

    I have...16 at 12 ozs. system calls for...24 ozs.
I have put up to 36 ozs. and the low stays the same. the high side goes out the top and bumps the high off limit ...:yup:
Effie thinks I need professional help...:hmmm: what does that have to do with my A/C system...

    something different today...
car ran with A/C on max for 5 mins...low at 12
the compressor loaded up, the low went to 32 for about 1 min. then compressor cycled off/on and it went back to 12.
it ran for about 3-4 mins then did it again except when it cycled off it didn't come back on for 1 min...
...I thought compressor didn't cycle in max air position...
high side up/down with the trinary switch cutting fan on/off...(186-254)

Did you get all the oil out of the system somehow and put the correct amount back in?

Does your expansion valve have a heat/cold sensing bulb that you can get at? Can you put some warmth on it and see if that causes it to open and let more refrigerant into the evaporator?
